The elevation strategy we propose here offers maximum usable space for minimum weight. To achieve this, we propose a light roof whose parabolic geometry, shaped like a small chain, allows the quantity of material to be minimised for a large span.
We thus have a minimum dead weight to cover a maximum area. In order not to weigh down this construction, we propose a filling of the structure with a light but insulating material, diffusing the light uniformly in the form of a membrane envelope, held on frames and following the curvature of the structure. This structural lightness makes the interior space a space of light, almost levitating above the existing building. It is an office space in a cloud.
